Did you know that among Creole Aristocrats Vetivert was the favorite scent?
No one knows who introduced it from India, where it was called KusKus. But the little green grassy plant soon was a "must" for every lady's garden and still is today. Its thin feeder roots are clipped off every two years, washed and dried in the sun and used to scent and deter moths in armories, closets and bed linens.
